As a central part of my university studies, I completed a month-long secondment under the guidance of the stage management team at Groundhog Day The Musical.

During my time on this production, I observed rehearsals, venue transfer, dry tech, technical and dress rehearsals, sitzprobe, publicity, media calls, and previews. I was given my own responsibilities as well, such as upkeep of the green room, production desks and dressing rooms, printing and laminating venue signage, distribution of daily schedules and cast changes, and timekeeping performances and show stops.

It was such a privilege working on a beautifully complex show, with over 1000 lighting cues, difficult set transitions, and so many props. Such a unique experience has left me with a wealth of knowledge about stage management and this unique industry of musical theatre.
