As an alumnus of Glen Waverley Secondary College, I’ve built a strong relationship with the drama department and return yearly to stage manage their musicals. 

This was my second show as stage manager and the skills I developed from the previous production proved very helpful when returning for High School Musical. I had more confidence when it came to cast management, and I had more knowledge of the venue and technical procedures. 

This production, in particular, was challenging in that I was working with people who were a lot younger and more inexperienced than myself, with the exception of the assistant stage managers who were previous students like myself, everyone else looked up to us as authority figures in a way I’ve yet to experience in other productions. This added pressure was overwhelming, however, I didn't let it affect other elements of the show, and made me learn to adapt to changing my focus to manage and assist different people from different departments of varying skill levels.
